Jim and Bones laying together, tangled in the sheets lazily as the morning sun starts to fill the room. They’re both busted up pretty good from Jim managing to get into another bar fight off campus that Bones somehow got involved in. The night before, all he did was complain as he bandaged them both up (being less than gentle with Kirk’s) before both collapsed in bed.
Jim is the first to wake and he looks over the damage done to his friend before a hand slips free of the covers to lightly touch the doctor on his bruised cheek. This, of course, wakes the grumpy older man, who huffs and opens his eyes to glare at Jim. But, for some reason, it’s hard to meet the gaze. The black and purple around Jim’s left eye just makes the bright blue pop and McCoy’s breath hitches faintly at the illusion. “What," Jim asks before his lips are covered by McCoy’s after muttering a soft “damnit Jim…"
They spend the rest of the morning softly exploring
